Now, usually NaNoWriMo is a solitary thing. But I was wondering, would there be any interest here in doing a collaborative, unofficial Kevin/Mike NaNo story here in this community? If one person contributes 2k words each day, we'd be done with days to spare. :D
So, what do you think, guys? If there's interest in this, I can post a starter on November first! It'll be fun!
Eta: Since there seems to be some interest I'll be posting a starter on Sunday morning! I don't have a storyline for the whole 50k word thing, but that's okay since lots of people will be contributing to this. The starter will be vague enough plot wise that it can go pretty much anywhere! :D
The way I'm thinking this ought to go is something like... if you want to write the next part, leave a comment saying something like "Next bit's mine!", write it up, and then post your section in a comment to the starter. (This way, we'll get a coherent, linear storyline, instead of multiple replies to the same sections. Also, by commenting on the starter post, we won't lose sections in comment threads, making it easier to read the whole thing on LJ.) If anyone thinks this ought to go a different way, speak up; I haven't done something like this before, so maybe there's a better way to do this than I've come up with. :D
Ok, that aside, the main focus of NaNoWriMo is to churn out as many words in as short as possible. If you do the math, 2k words per person per day will get us to 50k in no time. However, you don't have to go to 2k words if you can't, and you don't have to STOP at 2k if your idea gets away from you. Just try to do whatever your contribution is as quickly as you can. Longer sections will make up for shorter ones wordcount-wise, so if you get 1k words written and get stuck, just post it! :D
